What I Teach
Piano Lessons in Southfield, MI
Diana Munch Music Lessons
- Piano (modern): technique, repertoire across styles and periods, sight-reading, expression, and performance skills.
- Pianoforte (fortepiano): Classical-period style and touch; opportunity to learn repertoire on an instrument appropriate to the era.
- Harpsichord: Baroque repertoire and period performance techniques, including figured bass and stylistic ornamentation.
Teaching Philosophy
I believe students learn best when highly motivated and engaged. Inspired by the ideas in Education and Ecstasy, I select repertoire that excites each student while building strong musical foundations. Lessons combine technique, theory, historical context, and ear training so students become thoughtful, expressive musicians.

Diana Munch Music Lessons Testimonials
I took piano lessons with Diana from first grade all through high school, and she introduced me to the joy of playing music. Now I play piano professionally around the country, and I have her to thank for it!
I first met Mrs. Munch about 7 years ago when my son began taking lessons from her. She was always patient and compassionate, but most importantly she was keenly aware of his skill level and how far she could encourage him to move up to the next level. My son thoroughly enjoyed his lessons and her teaching style. He eagerly looked forward to seeing her each week. You will never find a more skilled, kind and qualified music instructor than Mrs. Munch.
I have been bringing my daughters to Mrs. Munch for over 10 years with the joy in knowing they accomplished so much and grew as individuals while being supported by Diana. Eventually my wife and I even participated in playing music with them or making presentations at ceremonies. More importantly is the large heart Diana has for senior citizens communities and she made sure everyone gave back with recitals and performances that were truely enriching for all. If your not going to Mrs. Munch and getting a tremendous experience then you are missing out!
